Antioxidants maybe the key to reducing risk of cancer
AST Sports Science
One out of every four Caucasian males have an inherited gene variation that makes them particularly susceptible to prostate cancer. The problem is that you don't know if you have the susceptible genotype for this disease. A disease that kills just as many men as breast cancer kills women. Therefore, gentlemen, you have to protect yourself.
Prostate tissue is sensitive to oxidative stress which triggers mutations. However, researchers have recently shown that a high intake of the antioxidants selenium, lycopene and vitamin E, prevent oxidative damage to this tissue. The new findings were based on an analysis of 567 men diagnosed with prostate cancer between 1982 and 1995, and 764 men without this disease.
Lycopene comes from tomatoes and cooking the tomato actually helps to make the lycopene more available to the body. Selenium and vitamin E requirements can be met by upping the intake of green vegetables.
To ensure that you meet your body's requirements for these vitamins and minerals as well as other antioxidants, be sure to take 1-2 caps of MultiPro 32X each day.
