Supplementation speeds recovery from injury
AST Sports Science
While they're injured and not training, most people don't take their supplements. According to a recent study this is a bad idea. Muscle injury sends out a distress signal within the body to breakdown muscle protein to deliver to the injured area. Protein supplementation provides an easily assimilated source of amino acids that the body can use to heal an injury and prevent muscle breakdown.
If you find your self injured, a layoff from training maybe necessary but don't stop taking your supplements. First-class protein such as VP2 Whey Isolate, Ny-Tro PRO-40, GL3 L-Glutamine and Micronized Creatine will provide important components that may help speed the regeneration of injured tissue.
